Best Pricempire Alternatives for CS2 Price Data

Updated

Pricempire is the incumbent: the broadest marketplace coverage and a full trading platform. Choose cs2.sh instead when data quality on the high-volume markets matters more than raw breadth: OHLC and completed-sale history going back years, full-depth Steam and CSFloat orderbooks, structured variants with their own history, liquidity with estimated sale time, and unlimited requests at 10 per second, where Pricempire's API history is Enterprise-only, capped at a 180-day range, daily, and not OHLC. For 40+ markets, multi-game coverage, or built-in portfolio and comparison tooling, Pricempire covers more than cs2.sh's six.

Where Pricempire fits, and where it does not#

Pricempire is a broad price aggregator and trading platform across CS2, Rust, TF2, and Dota 2, marketed at 40+ marketplaces. Alongside the price API it offers a built-in cross-market comparison and arbitrage screener, market-cap analytics and indexes, inventory valuation, and portfolio tracking, and it reached 100k+ users before opening the API. That breadth and the surrounding trading product are genuine strengths, and its price feed refreshes about every five minutes, comparable to cs2.sh.

Where it runs out is data depth on the markets that carry the most volume:

  • API price history is gated and shallow. History is Enterprise-only, requested one provider at a time, capped at a 180-day range per request, delivered as a flat daily price map rather than OHLC. The Standard plan has no history access at all.
  • The request model is metered. Plans are a monthly call quota (10,000 on Standard, 100,000 on Enterprise) rather than a sustained request rate.
  • Liquidity is a single score. Pricempire returns a numeric 0-100 liquidity value, without an estimated sale time or named class.
  • No full-depth orderbooks and no BUFF float-range data. There is no full Steam or CSFloat orderbook feed.

If any of those matter, the alternatives below cover them.

cs2.sh: the data-quality alternative#

cs2.sh is the closest alternative when the product needs the best data on the high-volume markets rather than the widest market list. It covers the six marketplaces that carry the most CS2 volume (BUFF, Youpin, CSFloat, Skinport, Steam, and C5Game) and goes deeper on each:

  • Far deeper price and sale history. OHLC candles at 5m, 30m, 1h, and 1d since December 2025; a long-term archive since 2023; native completed-sale history per source (CSFloat daily since 2022, Steam since April 2013 and hourly since May 2026, BUFF since September 2024, Youpin since November 2025); and full-depth orderbook history for Steam (since June 2026) and CSFloat (since August 2026). Pricempire's API history is Enterprise-only, 180-day, and daily, with no OHLC and no completed-sale archive at that depth.
  • More accurate current prices. Every source returns a labeled ask, bid, and the active-order counts behind them, each stamped with the marketplace's own updated_at and cs2.sh's collected_at, so freshness is checkable per source.
  • Structured variants with history. Doppler and Gamma Doppler phases and gems, Case Hardened tiers and Blue Gem, Marble Fade Fire and Ice ranks, Crimson Kimono red ranks, and BUFF float and fade bands, all carried through the history endpoints.
  • Liquidity you can act on. A named liquidity class plus an estimated sale time, rather than a single 0-100 score.
  • Unlimited requests and one simple schema. All six marketplaces arrive under a single item identity in one request, and every plan allows unlimited requests at 10 per second instead of a monthly call quota.

Developer is $75 per month for current-price endpoints, Scale is $200 for all endpoints, and both include unlimited requests at 10 per second. See cs2.sh pricing. For the full head-to-head, see cs2.sh vs Pricempire.

What cs2.sh returns for a CS2 item#

One request carries all six marketplaces under a single market_hash_name, each with its own collection time:

bash
curl -X POST https://api.cs2.sh/v1/prices/latest \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer <<YOUR_API_KEY>>" \
  -H "Accept-Encoding: gzip" --compressed \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"items": ["USP-S | Printstream (Factory New)"]}'
json
"buff": {
  "updated_at": "2026-07-26T18:50:53Z",
  "collected_at": "2026-07-26T18:53:10.67Z",
  "ask": 109.72,
  "ask_volume": 463,
  "bid": 106.17,
  "bid_volume": 41
}

ask is the lowest sell listing, bid the highest buy order, and ask_volume and bid_volume the active order counts behind them. The same key and schema reach the history and archive endpoints:

Other alternatives#

  • CSGOSKINS.GG is a flat-fee, CS2-only listing feed across many markets, with 90-day or 365-day listing history. It tracks listing prices, not completed sales, and its volume field is Steam-only. See cs2.sh vs CSGOSKINS.GG.
  • SteamWebAPI wraps Steam plus third-party markets into one schema, with float endpoints and Doppler phases, at lower modular starting prices. Its BUFF data refreshes on a roughly six-hour cadence. See cs2.sh vs SteamWebAPI.
  • SteamApis offers modular Steam and multi-market feeds with a WebSocket offer stream and optional sales access, assembled from per-module plans. See cs2.sh vs SteamApis.
  • CSPriceAPI is a lower-cost current-price feed across more markets, with history and sales as paid add-ons. See best CSPriceAPI alternatives.

How to choose#

  • Decide whether you need a data API or a trading platform. Pricempire bundles comparison, arbitrage, market cap, and inventory tools; cs2.sh gives you the price, history, sale, orderbook, and liquidity primitives to build your own.
  • If OHLC price history, completed-sale archives, or full-depth orderbooks are product inputs, Pricempire's API does not cover them at that depth.
  • If you need 40+ markets, multi-game coverage, or a portfolio product, Pricempire covers more than cs2.sh's six high-volume markets.
  • Calculate the request volume for full snapshots, history backfills, and refreshes, then check a metered monthly quota against an unlimited per-second rate.
  • Run the same ten-item test set through finalists, including an illiquid item, a Doppler phase, and an item missing on one source.
