Best CSPriceAPI Alternatives for CS2 Price Data

Updated

CSPriceAPI is a broad, low-cost current-price feed across many markets. Choose cs2.sh instead when the product depends on real depth: OHLC and completed-sale history going back years, full structured variant coverage with its own history, Steam and CSFloat orderbooks, liquidity with estimated sale time, and unlimited requests at 10 per second on every plan. For raw marketplace breadth across Western trading venues, CSPriceAPI or Pricempire cover more markets than cs2.sh's six.

Where CSPriceAPI fits, and where it does not#

CSPriceAPI is a real-time CS2 price feed aimed at traders and bots. It lists 13 markets, including Western trading venues that cs2.sh does not cover, such as DMarket, Waxpeer, LisSkins, ShadowPay, Market.CSGO, and SkinBaron. It exposes per-phase Doppler and Gamma Doppler pricing on Youpin and BUFF, float-range buckets, a Youpin buy-order endpoint, and 24h/7d/30d/90d change columns, refreshed about every five minutes. There is a free tier for prototyping, single feeds start at $40 per month, and the Trader tiers run $50 (Basic), $125 (Pro), and $225 (Enterprise).

That breadth is a genuine strength. Where it runs out is depth and operating headroom:

  • History and completed sales are recent paid add-ons. Historical data is a separate product (History Data at $80 per month, or the Enterprise tier), sale data another ($100 per month), and the granularity and coverage of each are not documented. The core feed is current prices plus rolling change columns.
  • Request headroom is tight. The published rate limits are 1 request per 5 seconds on Basic and 1 request per second on Pro. A full-catalog sweep or a history backfill runs slowly against those limits.
  • No orderbook depth, liquidity, or estimated sale time. There is no full-depth Steam or CSFloat orderbook feed and no liquidity metric.

If any of those matter, the alternatives below cover them.

cs2.sh: the depth-first alternative#

cs2.sh is the closest alternative when the product needs accurate prices and real history rather than the widest market list. It covers six CS2 marketplaces (BUFF, Youpin, CSFloat, Skinport, Steam, and C5Game) and is built around five things CSPriceAPI does not match:

  • Far deeper price and sale history. OHLC candles at 5m, 30m, 1h, and 1d since December 2025; a long-term archive since 2023; and native completed-sale history per source: CSFloat daily since 2022, Steam since April 2013 (hourly since May 2026), BUFF since September 2024, and Youpin since November 2025 (now hourly). On top of that, full-depth orderbook history for Steam (since June 2026) and CSFloat (since August 2026), and BUFF float-range history since May 2026. This is the single largest gap.
  • More accurate current prices. Every source returns a labeled ask, bid, and the active-order counts behind them, each stamped with the marketplace's own updated_at and cs2.sh's collected_at, so freshness is checkable per source rather than inferred from a change column.
  • A higher-frequency update rate where it counts. Current prices refresh every few minutes, OHLC is 5-minute granularity, and BUFF variants refresh about every 3 to 5 minutes, versus rolling 24h to 90d change columns.
  • More variant items, structured and with history. Doppler and Gamma Doppler phases and gems (Ruby, Sapphire, Black Pearl, Emerald), Case Hardened tiers and Blue Gem, Marble Fade Fire and Ice ranks, Crimson Kimono red ranks, and BUFF float and fade bands, all carried through the history endpoints since December 2025.
  • Simpler to work with. One key and one schema return all six marketplaces under a single item identity in one request, instead of stacking per-market and per-feature endpoints.

Developer is $75 per month for current-price endpoints, Scale is $200 for all endpoints, and both include unlimited requests at 10 per second. See cs2.sh pricing.

What cs2.sh returns for a CS2 item#

One request carries all six marketplaces under a single market_hash_name, each with its own collection time:

bash
curl -X POST https://api.cs2.sh/v1/prices/latest \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer <<YOUR_API_KEY>>" \
  -H "Accept-Encoding: gzip" --compressed \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"items": ["USP-S | Printstream (Factory New)"]}'
json
"buff": {
  "updated_at": "2026-07-26T18:50:53Z",
  "collected_at": "2026-07-26T18:53:10.67Z",
  "ask": 109.72,
  "ask_volume": 463,
  "bid": 106.17,
  "bid_volume": 41
}

ask is the lowest sell listing, bid the highest buy order, and ask_volume and bid_volume the active order counts behind them. The same key and schema reach the history and archive endpoints:

Other alternatives#

  • Pricempire is the breadth-first option: 40+ markets, multi-game coverage, and built-in comparison and portfolio tooling. Its API price history is Enterprise-only, capped at a 180-day request range, and daily rather than OHLC. Choose it when marketplace breadth or its wider trading product matters more than intraday history or completed sales. See cs2.sh vs Pricempire.
  • CSGOSKINS.GG is a flat-fee, CS2-only listing feed across many markets, with 90-day or 365-day listing history. It tracks listing prices, not completed sales, and its volume field is Steam-only. See cs2.sh vs CSGOSKINS.GG.
  • SteamWebAPI wraps Steam plus third-party markets into one schema, with float endpoints and Doppler phases, at lower modular starting prices. Its BUFF data refreshes on a roughly six-hour cadence. See cs2.sh vs SteamWebAPI.
  • SteamApis offers modular Steam and multi-market feeds with a WebSocket offer stream and optional sales access, assembled from per-module plans. See cs2.sh vs SteamApis.

How to choose#

  • Decide whether "price" means a sell listing, a buy order, or a completed sale, and whether you need history at OHLC granularity or only recent change columns.
  • If completed-sale history, Steam or CSFloat orderbooks, or structured variant history are product inputs, CSPriceAPI's core feed does not cover them.
  • If you only need broad current prices across many Western trading venues, CSPriceAPI or Pricempire cover more markets than cs2.sh.
  • Calculate the request volume for full snapshots, history backfills, and refreshes, then check it against each provider's rate limits.
  • Run the same ten-item test set through finalists, including an illiquid item, a Doppler phase, and an item missing on one source.

Disclosure: this comparison is published by cs2.sh. CSPriceAPI facts were checked against its official site on September 15, 2026; the other providers' facts were last checked on August 4, 2026. Verify current pricing and coverage on each vendor's own site before purchasing.
