How the indexes work

Each index weights its items by price and caps any one item at between 2.5% and 7.5% of the basket, depending on how many items it holds, so no single item can dominate an index. Baskets are rebuilt every Monday, leaving out items too illiquid to price, and levels follow the price changes of the items in them on BUFF, Youpin, CSFloat and Steam. Levels are points, not dollars. The broad market index priced 15,399 of its 15,622 items in its latest daily reading. The item prices every index is built from are available from the CS2 price history API.
